Phenol and antioxidant enzymatic activity in root knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita infected tomato plants treated with chitosan nanoparticles

Root knot nematode, Meloidogyne spp. causes severe yield losses in vegetable crops. Chitosan is one of the most abundant biopolymer available worldwide next to cellulose. It known have anti-nemic, anti-fungal and anti- bacterial properties. Application chitosan induces systemic resistance tomato plants against pathogens by increasing phenolic content antioxidant enzymes viz., Polyphenol oxidase, Superoxide dismutase phytoalexins. A study was conducted phenol activity enzymes, polyphenol oxidase peroxidase activities root nematode infected treated with chiotsan nanoparticles. The enzymatic were recorded after 25th day inoculation. observed that increased due application nanoparticle (174.32 µg/g root) compared 160.37 untreated plants. Similarly also revealed nano particles protect from infection content, induce nemayodes.
